Paul Roome

Paul Roome serves as a Therapist at No Matter What Recovery, drawing from a rich background spanning both the creative industries and psychology. Originally from Canterbury, England, he spent significant time in the film and television sectors in London and Los Angeles before shifting his focus to mental health. This path has given him a deep, lived understanding of identity, reinvention, and the complexities of life in transition.

Paul earned his master’s degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and is currently working toward full licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Paul’s journey into psychology is deeply personal. As a gay man in long-term recovery, he combines his lived experiences with professional insights, allowing him to address themes of addiction, identity, and rebuilding life with purpose. He is also currently working towards his Certified Sex Addiction Therapist credential and is a CSAT Candidate.

Paul believes that recovery transcends merely stopping harmful behaviors; it involves reconnecting with purpose, self-worth, and belonging. He is passionate about helping individuals navigate change and build lives that are both authentic and meaningful.

This unique blend of professional training and personal experience enables Paul to effectively support his clients as they embark on their paths of transformation.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys hiking, road biking, skiing, traveling, visiting museums, going to movies, and spending time with friends.
