A number of levels of care are available at outpatient drug rehab centers in Los Angeles, allowing for a progression from more frequent and intensive therapy to less as you demonstrate your ability to manage your recovery journey independently.
Our Los Angeles-based addiction treatment center incorporates elements of inpatient treatment into its intensive outpatient treatment program. The main difference is that inpatient programs, including detox centers, are 24/7 and often require supervised detox, while outpatient treatment programs meet several days out of the week for a specific number of hours per day.
We combine a number of different therapeutic modalities at No Matter What Recovery. We offer evidence-based treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) as well as holistic therapies like breath work, sound bath, and yoga.
Partial hospitalization programs are a middle point between an outpatient program/ day program and an inpatient/residential care. A PHP is for someone who no longer requires inpatient care but isn’t quite ready to return to the demands of daily life without any professional support or therapy sessions.
Partial hospitalization programs offer comprehensive structured care, while at the same time making it possible for clients to engage in their lives—to some degree at least—outside of treatment. A client in the PHP for substance use disorder or mental health treatment will spend most of the day in the rehabilitation center, and then go home at night. Hence, PHPs are sometimes known as “day treatment.”
In California, partial hospitalization programs (PHP) typically require that a client be onsite at the rehab center for 5-7 days per week, for several hours each day. During this time the person will participate in therapeutic activities in accordance with their individual treatment plan.
Treatment plans for most of the programs you come across will offer 30, 60, or 90 days of treatment. Our program can last up to 60-90 days, providing aftercare and support groups to assist your recovery after treatment ends.
In Los Angeles, outpatient drug rehab programs help individuals combat substance use disorders. The success of these programs hinges on their ability to be tailored to each participant’s unique circumstances and needs. What really makes outpatient rehab work comes down to a few key things:
By incorporating these essential elements, outpatient drug rehab programs in Los Angeles help individuals recover from addiction more quickly.

Ok so I was resentful and followed some direction and now I can honestly do this. I had some unhealthy moments but overall I felt the staff did there best considering the mess I made of my life. Bryce picked me up from my home and took me to detox. One time Paulo the owner ubered to me in the valley amd drove me and my car to detox because I was too intoxicated to drive. My experience with this facility had for the most part been extremely helpful. Cause girl shes a tornado lol. I just felt kinda abandoned and had some misinformation but overall the staff went above and beyond. Yes the chef gas a smart mouth but hey cooking for a bunch of addicts can be a lot. The tech that said I didnt look cis gender wasnt attacking me personally. We all have bad days. I give them 4 stars and would recommend anyone have a blessed day!!Posted on Google Lincoln TTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend No Matter What Recovery. I found NMW to be a safe, welcoming, and deeply supportive environment where clients can openly share their experiences and struggles without fear of judgment. That was very much my experience. I found their comprehensive approach to recovery—combining traditional methods, such as group and one-on-one psychotherapy, with holistic practices like art therapy, and music therapy—to be especially helpful. It provided opportunities to explore one’s own creativity while developing a variety of coping skills. Both the individual and group therapy sessions were, in my experience, outstanding—something I genuinely looked forward to. Equally outstanding and helpful were the chemsex addiction recovery groups—providing education and support in an area that I believe many treatment centers don’t address. Finally, the connections I made with other clients have proven to be incredibly valuable. The No Matter What team genuinely cares about their clients and meets them with compassion and respect. I’m deeply grateful for the support I received and would highly recommend this center to anyone seeking inclusive, affirming care—especially within the LGBTQ+ community.Posted on Google BCTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is a one-of-a-kind organization with a phenomenal vision and capability to bring support to the LGBTQIA+ community. I’m thankful for their presence and the services they provide.Posted on Google JacobTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. No Matter What Recovery Center (NMW) saved my life—and they still treat me like family. I feel compelled to write this review personally—not utilizing ChatGPT—because I genuinely don’t believe I’d be here to write anything at all if it weren’t for the care, compassion, and love I received at NMW. The treatment was not only individualized but truly holistic. Paired with the unwavering support from the staff, I felt—maybe for the first time—that people both wanted me to succeed and were equipping me with the tools to actually do it. If you’re looking for a real chance to change your life, NMW is where you’ll find it. Their substance-use, mental-health, and chemsex programs are all LGBTQ-focused and second to none. My journey with NMW began when the owner, Paulo, personally called me just to check in—at a time when I was doing pretty terribly—and asked how he could help. During my first week at the center, he greeted me with this huge, warm bear hug and told me he was glad I was there. It was genuine, and honestly, it was exactly what I needed in that moment. He even gave me his personal number, which he freely shares with anyone who needs support. Because of insurance, I had to go to detox elsewhere—somewhere labeled “LGBT-friendly” where I ended up being the only gay person there, and I felt incredibly uncomfortable. When I eventually connected with Bryce from Admissions at NMW to coordinate my transfer into their PHP program, it was such a relief. We ended up having a little kiki over the phone, and in that moment I knew NMW was where I belonged. NMW has top-tier clinicians: therapists like Ruben, and group facilitators like Will, Cornelius, and Adrienne. And then there’s Mell McCracken, their Executive Director and the nation’s leading expert on chemsex addiction and treatment. The program they’ve created at NMW has been nothing short of life-saving for me—and for countless others. I never once felt like NMW treated me with a cookie-cutter approach. Jack, the Program Director, played a huge role in allowing me to stay as long as I needed. Gannon, the Regional Housing Director, was instrumental in helping navigate everyday life situations. I was able to travel to pick up my car, keep my phone, and even start working again while still in treatment. With those freedoms came situations that would’ve derailed me in the past—but being part of NMW gave me the support and structure to navigate them successfully this time. I cannot recommend No Matter What strongly enough. If you’re ready for your life to change, this is the place that can do it. It changed mine—and I’m endlessly grateful.Posted on Google Marc PTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As a graduate of the phenomenal rehabilitation program provided at No Matter What Recovery, I feel it my duty to recommended this stellar facility to anyone in the LGBTQAI+ community that is seeking treatment. I never believed I would find such a safe, inclusive environment to begin my recovery journey. The personalized care given to each client was so well thought out and the clinicians are the best that I could have ever asked for. I felt well taken care of from the moment I walked through the doors. Additionally, the sober living provided was such a warm, well kept place that I was so happy to call home during my stay. Top to bottom their employees are caring from the owners Paulo and Tony to their clinical staff, alumni program and Sober Living. I felt safe here and owe my recovery to them. This program was so different from any other program I’ve done in the past. I felt supported, encouraged and loved the entire way through. The Chem Sex/Sex and Love addict curriculum changed how I viewed the effects that relationship had in my sobriety and helped a lot!Posted on Google Brandon STrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Where do I begin? This place changed my life in ways I can't possibly express in words. From the very first time I reached out, Bryce and Paulo were welcoming, warm and worked with me to make the whole admissions process easy. What Paulo and Anthony have created is nothing short of a miracle for struggling alcoholics and addicts like myself. I immediately found a supportive community and the exact help that I needed. I can't say enough wonderful things about my therapist Ruben - he's truly a treasure and I came to know so much more about myself and my struggles by working with him. All of the facilitators were amazing with a special shoutout to Mell and their chemsex group. Also want to give kudos to Jack, their Assistant Executive Director, who worked tirelessly to get all of my short term disability and miscellaneous paperwork completed quickly so that I could focus on my treatment. If you are an addict or alcoholic who wants to get sober but doesn't know where to start, I highly suggest you pick up the phone and call No Matter What. It's the best decision you'll ever make. They've helped give me a life that I am so grateful for when my future looked bleak. I recommend them one thousand and ten percent.Posted on Google Billy -Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. NMW Recovery was an amazing part of my journey I am so grateful 🙏 that a place like this exists for the LGBTQ+ community to help provide quality recovery support in times of crisis and need.Posted on Google Robert GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. No Matter What Recovery is the best rehab choice for someone who is LGBTQ+ or an ally. You do not have to hide who you are or explain things about yourself here, they get what you've been through which is refreshing in its own. They are also LGBT owned and operated, which is nice to have staff that are part of your community, adding an extra level of care and attention. The groups are therapeutic, as hearing what others have been though may help you find answers to your own problems. It was also refreshing to have others ask questions when and if you decided to share your story, as it helps you process what you've been through or reframe your thinking around it. The 1-1 sessions with a therapist were amazing and helped me process a lot of trauma, shout out to Jay who was my therapist and a lifesaver. Art therapy was something I had not thought of as part of recovery, but I did indeed learn some ways to creatively express what I was going through and turn it into a positive. Will and Anna are amazing facilitators in this regard. The follow up from NMWR is also impressive. They were the first place to follow up with me and respond via text or phone, even late at night (thank you Bryce). Phil also reached out after I completed my program and follows up occasionally, which is nice as it shows the level of care you will receive here.
We understand that no two clients’ experiences or circumstances are the same. For that reason, we offer a variety of treatment services, taking into consideration the need for dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring disorders and mental health treatment.
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a more intensive, structured program that aims to treat substance abuse and mental health disorders. Contrary to residential treatment, PHP offers a lower-cost solution, covered by many insurance plans, including private health insurance, medicare, and medicaid, to addiction treatment, effectively addressing key issues.
In addition to a PHP option, “No Matter What Recovery” offers clients the option of an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). An IOP focuses on addressing chemical dependency, various addictions, and mental health issues, facilitating recovery from drug abuse and other addiction issues.
In addition to a solid treatment program, it’s worth considering the type of group therapy an outpatient rehab facility offers as part of its program. Treating the underlying issues contributing to an addiction is a huge part of achieving long-term success.
No Matter What Recovery takes a holistic approach to therapy, combining individual counseling with group processing around relapse prevention, trauma/seeking safety, and healthy communication. We aim to treat the mind, body, and spirit as a whole, combining this approach with more experiential treatments such as sound baths, meditation, art, music, CrossFit/HIIT, and dance/movement therapy.
Outpatient rehab offers a host of benefits for those looking to regain control over their lives and break free from the cycle of addiction. These programs not only help individuals overcome their addiction but also equip them with the necessary tools and support systems to maintain a sober living lifestyle after treatment.
One of the significant benefits of outpatient rehab is the flexibility it provides. Unlike inpatient treatment, outpatient programs allow individuals to maintain their daily activities and responsibilities while participating in an addiction treatment program. This flexibility makes it an ideal option for those who are committed to recovery but cannot commit to a full-time residential program due to work, family, or other obligations.
Outpatient rehab programs also provide comprehensive mental health services to address the co-occurring disorders often associated with addiction. These services can include individual and group therapy, psychiatric care, and medication management. By integrating mental health services into the treatment plan, outpatient programs help individuals address the root causes of their addiction, improving their chances of long-term recovery.
The benefits of outpatient rehab extend beyond the treatment sessions. Participants can begin to apply what they’ve learned in real-world situations immediately, promoting sober living. They also have the chance to build a strong support network within their community, which can be crucial in maintaining sobriety long-term.
The outpatient model of care presents a holistic approach to recovery, combining medical, psychological, and social aspects of care. By doing so, outpatient rehab addresses all facets of a person’s life affected by addiction, including their physical health, mental health, relationships, and social functioning.
Yes, LA Care, like many health insurance providers, typically covers a portion of the cost for outpatient rehab. However, coverage can vary based on your specific insurance plan and the treatment center’s in-network status. It is always advisable to check with LA Care directly or speak with the rehab center’s administrative staff to confirm your coverage details.
The cost of rehab in LA can vary greatly depending on several factors, including the type of treatment (inpatient vs. outpatient), length of stay, and the specific services provided. On average, outpatient rehab tends to be less expensive than inpatient rehab. Costs could range anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 per month. Always confirm costs with the treatment center directly.
Inpatient rehab, also known as residential treatment, involves staying at a treatment facility full-time, often for 30, 60, or 90 days. This option provides round-the-clock medical supervision and a structured environment free from outside distractions and triggers.
On the other hand, outpatient rehab allows individuals to continue living at home while attending scheduled treatment sessions throughout the week. This option provides more flexibility and is often beneficial for those who have work or family responsibilities. It can also serve as a step-down level of care for individuals transitioning from inpatient rehab.
The cost of outpatient rehab in LA can vary based on the length and intensity of the program, the types of services provided, and whether it’s covered by insurance. On average, outpatient treatment can range from $1,000 to $5,000 per month. However, many treatment centers offer sliding scale fees or payment plans to make the treatment more affordable.
Outpatient rehab offers several benefits, including greater flexibility, allowing participants to maintain work, school, or family responsibilities while receiving treatment. It also provides access to comprehensive mental health services and promotes sober living by allowing participants to immediately apply what they’ve learned in real-world settings. Additionally, outpatient programs typically cost less than inpatient rehab, making it a more affordable option for many individuals.
